Main rehearsal for the Olympics

Brazil and Mexico complete the list of participating nations at the Longines CSIO St. Gallen. They have accepted the organiser's invitation and will compete against Switzerland in the Gründenmoos stadium alongside the teams from France, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Sweden.

All eight competing nations will face each other again just two months later at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. France will not only compete in Japan, but also in St. Gallen as defending champions. Germany is the record holder in both competitions with eight Olympic victories and 19 victories in the Nations Cup in Switzerland. The participating nations represent 17 victories at 23 Summer Olympic Games held so far and 66 successes at Switzerland's 92 Nations Cups to date. Only Brazil and Switzerland have never won Olympic gold and Mexico has never won the Nations Cup of Switzerland.

So it is anything but an easy task for the Swiss team, who would like to finally win their home CSIO, which is being held for the 25th time in St. Gallen, after the one in Lucerne in 2000.
