St. Gallen is part of the Longines League of Nations!

St. Gallen is part of the Longines League of Nations! The St.Gallen public will be able to enjoy a Longines League of Nations qualifying tournament at Gründenmoos from 2024.

From 2024, the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup Series with ten qualifiers and one final will become the Longines League of Nations with only four qualifiers and one final. The new concept for the prestigious and historic team competition - the first Nations Cup was held as early as 1909 - is intended to make the top series more exclusive and easier to understand. Thus, the same ten world's best nations will take part in all qualifying competitions and the prize money of the Nations Cup will be increased from the previous 250'000 Euros to 700'000 Euros. Fortunately, St. Gallen is one of only two qualifying tournaments left in Europe, as the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) announced today. The other stops are Abu Dhabi (UAE), Ocala (USA) and Rotterdam (NED). The final, for which the best eight nations qualify, will be held in Barcelona (ESP) as in previous years. These tournament venues are confirmed for the years 2024 up to and including 2027. From 2025, an additional qualifying tournament may be added in Europe.

Nayla Stössel, OC President of the Longines CSIO St. Gallen, is extremely happy about this decision: "St. Gallen has been allowed to host the Nations Cups at the highest level since 1978. It is an honour for us and a great recognition of our past performance that we will be able to do this in the future as well. I am also happy for the best athletes of our country, who have always committed themselves to this unique team competition and made themselves available. For us, our sport, St. Gallen and Switzerland, participation in the new Longines League of Nations is an enormous opportunity due to the massive upgrading of our tournament."
