Bryan Balsiger wins the Schildknecht Einstreu Youngster Cup

The Longines CSIO St. Gallen also puts the spotlight on young horses with the Schildknecht Einstreu Youngster Cup, the first qualifier of the CSIYH1* competition. Run under Table A against the clock, with obstacles up to 135 cm for 7-year-old horses and up to 140 cm for 8-year-olds, the class produced a tight battle at the top.

He edged out Spain's Alvaro Gonzalez de Zarate Fernandez with Pop Up, second in 58.95 seconds — just one hundredth of a second behind. Switzerland's Steve Guerdat completed the podium with Crystal 28, third in 59.17 seconds.
