950 children celebrate at the Kindernachmittag presented by Migros
The Longines CSIO St. Gallen is about more than top-level sport: its youngest spectators are very much part of the experience too. The Kindernachmittag (children's afternoon) presented by Migros drew around 950 children from the region, together with their families, for an event devoted to entertainment and a playful introduction to the world of horses.
Aimed at children aged roughly 4 to 12, the programme featured a lively show with western riding, duels involving ponies and dogs, a riding demonstration by Special Olympics and balloon artists. The real focus, however, was on getting involved: pony rides, hobby-horsing, lasso and horseshoe throwing, and many other hands-on activities invited the children to take part directly.
To round off the afternoon, every child received a snack (Zvieri) and a goodie bag — sending them home with a smile and fond memories of a day dedicated to the next generation of equestrian fans.
