At the 90th Nations Cup of Switzerland the local team will be competing with Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany Ireland, Italy and Sweden.

For this competition Andy Kistler plans the best team: winner of the Olympic Games and double winner of the World Cup Steve Guerdat, Swiss Champion and winner of the Grand Prix in Mexico Martin Fuchs, Romain Duguet, who finished sensationally as second at the World Cup Final as well as the experienced riders Paul Estermann and Christina Liebherr.

It won’t be easy, the plan for the home victory. Especially record winner Germany with 19 successes in Nations Cups in Switzerland is always a favourite. The two exceptional riders Marcus Ehning, current number 7 in the Word Ranking as well as winner of Olympic Games, World- and three times European Champion with the team, and Marco Kutscher, also winner of the Olympic Games twice with the team, stand out in the team. Roger-Yves Bost, winner of Olympic Games with France in Rio, leads the French team. With 14 victories up to now they are second in the ranking of the best teams. Bertram Allen, the young star, is returning to the Gründenmoos with his Irish fellows as defending champions. Gregory Wathelet and Lorenzo de Luca are the leaders of the teams Belgium and Italy. Brazil has Eduardo Menezes, riding at the Olympic Games, and the surprising winner of the Grand Prix in La Baule: Pedro Junqueira Muylaert. Together with the Swedish team with Henrik von Eckermann and four female riders these two teams will do their best, to surprise as outsiders. Besides Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy and Sweden are going for points, that will ensure a participation at the final of the FEI Nations Cup end September in Barcelona. Only seven of the total eight countries from Europe’s top league can qualify themselves for that.
