The health of horses is in the first place
St. Gallen, 1 June 2013 - On Saturday morning, the organizers of Longines CSIO Schweiz St. Gallen have cancelled the event. Recent heavy rains that have been lasting days and weeks rendered the terrain of Gründenmoos unusable and dangerous for horses.
The event program has been rescheduled to adapt to weather conditions during Thursday and Friday. Six competitions were cancelled and the Friday's Nations Cup has been carried out with a single round and a jump-off. The enforced rains on Friday night have been further deteriorating the terrain. After intensive discussions between organizers, riders and chefs d'equipe the jury came up with the cancellation decision. Horses' health is an absolute priority for the organization committee and Nayla Stössel. As well no normal sportive conditions could be guaranteed because only some ten riders found the conditions adequate. The decision was discussed in details with partners and sponsors who have welcomed the decision.
