Former CSIO speaker Karl Erb has died

With Karl Erb, an icon of Swiss sports journalism and a legend at the microphone died this week at the age of 92. Karl Erb was born on 25 June 1926 in Belp. When he was three years old, his family moved to Zurich, where Erb attended school. From 1946 he worked as a freelance journalist for numerous trade journals and daily newspapers. Between 1962 and 1981 he commented for Swiss Television on many other sports, including horse riding. At the age of 57, he retired from the television business: "Twenty Years commentating are enough." Erb then published numerous works on sports topics as an author and editor. In addition to his legendary ski races, Erbs' preferences also included riding events. For more than 30 years, Karl Erb was the speaker for the CSIO in Lucerne and St.Gallen. Thank you very much for everything, dear Karl!
